The emotional intelligence 2.0 is a book by Jean Greaves and Travis Bradberry and it focuses on what emotional intelligence is how to improve your EQ and master it. It also talks about how to improve your people skills. Great emotional intelligence allows you to build strong relationships and not only with others but with yourself as well finally it teaches you how to read body language. 

emotional intelligence is the ability to recognise and understand your own feelings and others as well as influence those feelings do your advantage. Emotional Intelligence 2.0 succinctly explains how to deal with emotions creatively and employ our intelligence in a beneficial way.


Emotional intelligence is based on four pillars.

  • Self-awareness - the ability to understand your own feelings.
  • Self-management- how to control and manage yourself and your emotions
  • Social awareness- how to read the emotions of others and act accordingly
  • Relationship management- understanding your actions and the behaviours of others around you will enable you to build strong and lasting relationships.

This book is phenomenal at making you aware of both yourself and your surroundings. This should be required reading for leaders, managers and executives. Taken seriously, this book can help you evaluate yourself and reveal ways to grow and develop in ways you may not have ever considered. Easy to read and succinct. Great book!
